This was the first UI design competition that Krishiv and I participated in. This was very challenging for us, but we felt like taking up a challenge, so we enrolled in it.

 

Requirement: We had to design a timeline page, an events list page, add a new event page, and an events details page for TopCoder, and it needed to be elegant. They provided us with the bracket design system and we needed to design it using the Figma software within 6 days.

 

Process: (Team Work)

• Observed - many timeline pages as we could,

• Discussed - themes, styles, positions for elements, what new features we could add, and elements that had to be included.

• Quick drafts and finalised a draft.

• We watched youtube tutorials, read on how to use Figma (we actually did this from the start of the process, as we didn’t know how to use Figma).

• After researching, we completed the designs on Figma, but we couldn’t figure out how to submit those designs as we hadn’t read that particular document provided by the competition conductors.

• However, we finally figured out how to convert the formats, although we couldn’t submit it in time for the competition’s deadline.

Though this competition wasn't a complete success, I completely enjoyed the whole process, - even the stress - and especially the confidence I gained from it.
